Hi Rhiannon,
I've been using the More than Words programme in my private practice. I've not run any groups yet, but the most recent update of the materials allows for training of individual families.
You clearly don't have the benefits of the group dynamic, however families have really benefited and the children have shown great progress, nonetheless.
Have a great Christmas and happy and healthy 2018 -

Hello Rhiannon,
I was really interested to read your comment about forest school. I'm a schools salt and mummy of 3. My 4 year old attends a forest school preschool and I think there is so much we can learn from that philosophy. I was even thinking of training as a forest school teacher and exploring the ways that speech therapy and forest school can compliment each other to support children's communication skills. I look forward to reading more about how you get on...

Hi there. This is a really interesting post! I have just signed up for the free trial after reading this. I was just wondering if you know how well you meet the RSCLT guidelines for record keeping using Cliniko? Does it allow you to enter time of contact and a signature for example?

Hello,
I've been using video tool training for reflective practice with early years educators, using an adapted version of Sarah Hulmes ACI tool. It works extremely well to create behaviour change however the nurseries I work in are finding it time consuming and their time is being cut everywhere. They have asked if they can adapt it; just get another colleague to observe and comment but this then takes away the self reflection element and I'm not sure if there is any evidence that this would generate as much behaviour change. Do you know of any evidence based interventions trying this out?
Thanks

Thanks for posting about the Hanen e-seminars, I didn't know they existed! I often target vocabulary which has symbolic noises attached to the words e.g car (beep beep/brrrrm), dog (woof), train (choo choo) etc, and try to use play with lots of opportunities for this e.g train set, farm set etc!

specific vocabulary can be identified by watching what the child really wants and what they are motivated by, which can be totally different to what the parent thinks they will want to say! I also find most success by hooking new vocabulary to consistent vocalisations the child is already using as well.
Thank you for the opportunity to enter this draw! :) Katie

I've followed some MOOCs but no eSeminar so far, it looks really interesting!
The vocabulary targets I’ve had most success with are "encore" (more), "ballon" (baloon), "chat" (cat), "livre" (book) and "ipad" but the majority of these words are about material I use in therapy, so not very functionnal for the child's life at home.
I'm looking forward some improvement of my work in this field.
Lydie (french SLT, sorry for my poor English)

An e seminar sounds great. I've re entry moved to a new area and it's hard to access training.
I think "more" is often very successful with my younger students especially when linked to highly desired activities of the child's interests

Hi Rhiannon, I just came across your interesting posts on DA during a websearch for SLT-related DA articles. I just wondered if you ever found anyone to collaborate with on a DA-based RAPT assessment? I would love to help if you haven't finished it already years ago (I note the age of this post!)
Greetings from Scotland,
